We believe the closer to nature one can be the better and we transfer this belief in to the work we produce. In an ideal world we wouldn't require street lights and the subsequent impact this has on the planet in terms of light pollution (effecting the view of our stars or our sleep at night), carbon emissions, view on the natural landscape and various other negative effects.
However, we do not live in an ideal world and street lights have a very important role to play in today's society. They provide us with light to see in the dark and a feeling of safety as we carry on with our day to day lives; most people not even contemplating what goes on behind the scenes for a street lighting installation.
Just the other day I was asked what I do for a living and I mentioned I worked in the street lighting industry the response was "wow! I never even knew that was a 'thing'.
I've worked in this industry for over 12 years and I've seen the importance of lighting to the public and how much they care about it, especially when it is changed or removed.
'Closer to Nature'; our designs are prepared with this phrase at the forefront of our mind, we want people to not even notice the lighting is present but still feel safe and comfortable in their environment. Unless of course, the lighting is to form part of the aesthetics.
We believe this approach reduces, light pollution, energy consumption, carbon emissions, potential hazards and costs.
Let's get closer to nature.
Best wishes,
Peter
